Avalon Residential Commission
N Harrison Street, Princeton
I am honored to have been commissioned by the Spacia Group to create a 48" x 72" painting for a new residential complex near the Princeton Shopping Center. As part of their initiative to showcase local talent, Spacia Group carefully reviewed the work of artists from our 40-member cooperative, selecting only two artists for this prestigious opportunity.
This commission presented an exciting challenge—I had never worked on a piece of this scale before, and I was given a specific color palette to adhere to. Over the course of two months, I immersed myself in the creative process, pushing the boundaries of my materials and techniques. It was a journey of discovery, experimentation, and growth, all driven by the goal of creating something that brings the Princeton community together.
Interwoven Existence is a three-dimensional painting that explores the profound connections between humanity and the cosmos. Delicate, neuron-like cells, formed by fine, thread-like textures, weave across the canvas, symbolizing how each person—unique and irreplaceable—is seamlessly interwoven into the greater tapestry of existence. These intricate textures form a web, mirroring both the neural pathways of our minds and the vast, interconnected nature of the universe itself.
Through layered textures and interwoven lines, the painting radiates a sense of unity and oneness, further enriched by a diverse palette of colors and materials. At its core, Interwoven Existence carries a message of love and togetherness—despite our differences, we are all embraced by the same universal energy. Each of us contributes something distinct, yet we remain part of something much larger.
The piece’s three-dimensional elements invite viewers to explore this interconnectedness in depth, discovering meaning in the intersections of life, diversity, and cosmic wonder. It celebrates both the elegance of our individuality and the beauty of our shared existence within the boundless cosmos.
This project is a reflection of my deep commitment to creating art that resonates with its environment and fosters a sense of belonging. I am grateful for this opportunity to contribute to a space where art enhances daily living and inspires connection.
